COVID19 UPDATE
As I’m sure you are all aware, the province of Ontario has begun major changes in efforts to slow down the spread of COVID-19. Many businesses, churches, sports events and leagues have been shut down or postponed in keeping with the government’s recommendations and mandates.
The effects of these mandated shutdowns will almost certainly impact the spring season of Waterford Soccer. While I am not sure as to the extent of these effects at the moment, I want to make our soccer families aware that our spring season will likely look a lot different than usual, and may indeed be cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
We will be making a decision on what to do about our spring soccer season by April 6th. So please be looking for an email update on, or shortly after April 6th, concerning the changes or cancellation to our spring season. Hopefully, we will be able to continue the season, in some way or form. However, our priority is for the health and safety of the children who would take part in the soccer season. We do not want to do anything that would put them in any unnecessary risk to the COVID-19 virus. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me by email.
I appreciate you understanding in this matter, and pray that each of your families would have a safe and healthy spring. There may be uncertain times ahead, but I would like to encourage you to look to the person of Jesus Christ, our Saviour, for strength and comfort. God’s Word says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort” (1 Corinthians 1:3 ESV). We trust that God is in control of all things, and will bring us comfort, especially in times like this.
